Hey Y'all...damn its been a loooong time.
I joined this community in 07, and I check back from time to time and I just realized how long its been. So I thought I would stop in and update you on the modification adventures that I have had in the last three years and to offer up pictures.

Still no tattoos, but I have 11/12 piercing now (11 piercing, 12 holes). My right ear: 4 lobe piercings (two 12g, 4g, and a 14g - they are my current project, tragus, cartiledge) left ear: 2 lobe piercings (0 to 00g and a 14g - the 14g is also part of my project), rook, industrial. My newest modification is my septum, which I love.

I would like to get my nose pierced on the right side, my conch on my right ear, 3rd lobe piercing on my left and of course tattoos.

Infected piercing?
I know this sounds so dumb... but I've been battling infection with my eyebrow piercing since october. It's in this process of going away and coming back even after a round of antibiotics. And I soak it with sea salt and wash it with dial but it keeps coming back without fail. The thing is it gets pink, and a bit swollen but it never gets beyond that.

Should I see a doctor about other possible health risks? Is it possible that the infection is spreading internally?

Also it started bleeding after I had a headon collision with someone during my dress rehearsal tonight.

keep staring!!!
last night, someone asked me what i do when people stare at me because of my modifications. they asked if it angers me, upsets me, etc.
my response was that basically, i find it funny that some people look like deer in headlights when seeing me and i pity others for being so judgmental and close minded. (those are the ones who shoot dirty looks)
my typical response is to make air kisses, wink, or something of that nature. personally, i don't care what people think, because its my body, and i love my mods. i feel i made my body better by decorating it as i see fit. i find humor in such situations.
i'm not rude, because everyone has a right to their own opinion, but if someone says something nasty, you can bet your butt i snap right back.
everyone has rights, but they should also respect one another.

so when someone stares at you for your mods, what do you do??? do you laugh it off like me? do you get pissed off and offended? do you try to ignore it???

and... GO!

Advice, please!
Hello!

I'm brand new here, and I've joined just to ask for a little bit of advice concerning a tattoo I plan on getting!

Next Tuesday I'm going to be getting my very first tattoo, of this symbol:

(I apologize in the meantime if photos aren't allowed in posts!!)

Anyway, I'm an 18 year-old female and I was wondering where on my BODY a tattoo like this would look good? My boyfriend thinks the upper arm or back shoulder would look good... I'm not too interested in lower back or ankle tattoos, either.

If any of you could think of an interesting placement for this tattoo, it would be so appreciated! I'm interested in finding out what you all think!

Hey all.
Nice to see a group of like-minded/adorned people on livejournal.
I have a slightly bizarre but sweet story to share and I'm wondering if anyone has had similar expereiences...
I recently got my tragus pierced. Up until the night I got it done, I had been suffering from severe shin splints for months. I didn't realize it at the moment, but as I walked home from the piercing parlor, I realized they were gone. Now, I've been advised against piercings by many a Chinese medical practitioner who warns that certain piercings can block off certain meridians in the body and disrupt the energy flow in certain internal organs. I've also heard, however, that there are various acupuncture points that when stimulated, alleviate energy deficiencies or blocked meridians. There's a tradition called "stapling" that's similar to piercings, where an acupuncture point is pierced with a needle or staple and that piercing is left in for a certain period of time.
That's kind of a lot of information, but my main inquiry is this: does anyone know about acupuncture/pressure points located on or around the tragus that might have had something to do with the miraculous disappearance of my shin splints? Also: has anyone else experienced anything like this when getting a piercing, not just on the tragus, but anywhere?
Could just be a fluke, but til this day, the shin splints are still miraculously absent.

Hello, Im Mae. I'm 21 and live in BUFU, (Janesville) Wisconsin. I have one tat, as of yet and have/had 6 piercings. I currently have my ears and septum. In the past I had eyebrow, bellybutton, and nipples (migrations sucks, I really enjoy those while they lasted)

My favorite is my septum, do to the fact I just got it done (last night) and for the mere fact I've always wanted it.

I do have some issues though. I got it done at a shop where, yes they were clean. But didn't give me any information on the piercing/cleaning/healing...etc...I would have asked these questions, but I was a bit woozy after...

So I have a few questions.

Is it normal to swell/bleed? (My bleeding stopped last night, but my nose is still a bit swollen)

How long will it take to heal?

I looked up cleaning online but is there a good method any of you have found better?
Better products?

*****IMPORTANT QUESTION******
I have to be to work in 2.5hrs and need to unscrew the balls so I can flip it into my nose. What is the trick to this?
I can't, for the life of me, unscrew the balls. It hurts badly.

THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE-
M

tarnished?
http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/11/22/hottest-products-of-2007-tattoos-that-wipe-clean-in-one-fell-sw/

this highly irritates me for so many reasons it is ridiculous.
some of which, but not limited to being:
tattoos are about commitment and should not be jumped into, hence i have so many issues with tattoos people get to begin with. BUT the fact that there is an ink that either recently was created or is in the process of coming out that in one session can remove a tattoo completely. now yes, i know there are tattoo removal procedures available now, however, bringing this new ink about just brings so many issues. i foresee way too many people getting tattoos just because they know they can be removed easily. i just find it irritating because i modify my body how i see fit, and would never think of removing anything i have added to it. yes, sometimes there is a need for removal, but i think they should just create a better removal procedure, rather than this ink that can be removed in one session.
i don't care in the sense that my tattoos can not be removed as easily, but i am more concerned with the public getting stupid tattoos done just because they know they can be removed, and i think it tarnishes the fact that tattoos should be seen as permanent.
that is just my opinion.

thoughts? opinions?

discuss!

Stretching update!
I bought some really nice stone plugs in 7/16" the other day from BAF. Anyway, I had been taping my ears. My left was at a 00, and the right at a 0 (if you remember, I fucked up my right ear and it has a lot of issues with stretching). Anyway, my left ear is at a 7/16" now! And the right is finally at 00!! I'm so excited! Taping is the most amazing thing ever. And since the 7/16" plugs are stone, they're relatively heavy, so that should help with the stretching process. My goal size is somewhere between 5/8" and 1", depending on how my ears look and all.
